Many thanks to you for a lovely dinner to celebrate my birthday at the New England Beach House last Saturday. It was easy to work with you to decide on the menu, your suggestions were excellent and I found you both creative and flexible. I particularly appreciated your quite last minute suggestion of having crab tartlets as a starter.

We loved the canapés, especially the scallops, and the delicious vegetarian choices you offered. The halibut and lamb main courses were both delicious (very pleased we could have a choice!) and the pommes dauphinois were especially good. My vegetarian daughter loved the pithivier, so we were all delighted. The trio of puddings were delicious too - an inspired suggestion that made the whole dinner more special.

It was lovely to feel that the whole evening was in such good hands, and many thanks to Sam too, for her professional and smiling help.

The house and the weather were exceptional but we are all particularly grateful to you for preparing us the most delicious meals. You were so kind coping with our special needs, our fussy vegetarian granddaughters and leaving everything just ready to pop in the Aga when we were on our own. The lasagne Friday night everyone said was delicious. Then the canapés before our main party lunch on Sunday were some of the best we have had and your team were efficient and friendly with us. The salmon en croute was such a good choice and your three puddings for dessert were light and perfect. Leaving us fish pie to heat for Sunday lunch made returning after a sunny walk another delicious meal and we gobbled it up in the garden.

We would thoroughly recommend you to anyone contemplating catering for a special occasion. You were kind and patient with us and your food was absolutely delicious. We all send you our grateful thanks and my birthday will go down in family history as one of our nicest times.

She certainly didn’t seem like a newbie, she was polite and confident so I hope that is helpful feedback.

My mum is a good cook and she was blown away by the berry mousse! Everyone was very complimentary about all the food but the real proof is that there was hardly anything left! There were a few canapes left which we polished off at about 7pm as several of our friends were still here. There is a bit of caponata and mousse left for our supper tomorrow otherwise it was all eaten up.

”We held a business meeting in West Sussex and hired Jane to cater for 8 of us over two nights. ”Jane provided a wonderful Cordon Bleu English Cream Tea for my husband’s 80th birthday. I wanted it to be a surprise for him so I liaised with Jane several times prior to the occasion. I chose a number of items from a list that Jane supplied and I suggested some others of which I knew my husband was particularly fond , such as vols-au-vent, and she was happy to make them.
Jane arrived at our home with the food she’d prepared well in advance of the appointed time, in order to make finishing touches and to arrange the items carefully on appropriate and delightful china plates she brought with her. She also enhanced the appearance by adding roses and herbs from her garden.
The savouries consisted of mini quiches, vols-au-vent and three kinds of delicate sandwiches. These were extremely tasteful. We then enjoyed fruit scones with butter, jam and cream, all supplied by Jane and finally we had small individual coffee and walnut cakes, individual lemon meringue tartlets and also chocolate eclairs which I had especially requested. Jane added to this two bottles of her very special sparkling Jasmine tea.
It was all very delicious, and highly professional in its realisation. It reminded us of an afternoon tea we had had at the Savoy some years ago. A lovely celebration for a very special birthday.

”Dear Jane,
Thanks you so much for cooking us such a wonderful meal last Saturday evening! We all loved it and it was a great idea to serve the canapés in the lounge instead of sitting at the dining table. They were really successful. The main course chicken in a saffron, honey and hazelnut sauce was delicious and just right with couscous, beans and mangetout. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the chicken nuggets, too. To follow with summer pudding and your homemade ice cream was a wow!
You were a true professional and along with Viv gave us amazing service and I would highly recommend you.I wished we lived closer so l could enjoy your cooking again!

Thank you once again for providing us with such excellent, stress-free service. You and your little team worked like clockwork, and were just perfect. I am as much in awe at your organisational skills as your culinary talents.

The tasty little savoury delights were a complete treat, and having everything made at the very last minute ensured that every single mouthful was as fresh and delicious as possible.

There was almost a fight over the desserts; they were that popular with our guests! And I have seriously never tasted anything as scrumptious as your tiny home-made ice creams.

”We had such a lovely evening on Saturday and we all enjoyed your cooking SO much. The beef was (I could tell!) a real worry for you - but it was cooked absolutely to perfection and really good; the sauces were interesting and everyone seemed to like them . Michael was very happy with his smoked fish, I don’t remember the name of your supplier but it was obviously a really good quality. I’m pleased that everyone was full and there was some frangipani left over - we enjoyed it just as much on Sunday!
I hope you found your way around the kitchen alright, and thank you very much for leaving everything so clean and tidy.
Thank you for everything, it made Michael’s birthday very special.

”Jane was absolutely super! Easy to work with from start to finish.
The food was excellent, she suggested canapés rather than starters and I'll never go back - it was even hard to choose a highlight everything was that good!
Would highly recommend!!
Came back really quickly with great options and flexibility!
